Transportation from End to Ride Start

Hey:  We are hoping to do Cycle NC (2007).  Thinking of dropping gear and bikes at the start, driving to the end, and someone getting back to the start.  Any advice on how to do this?   Any advice would be appreciated.  Prefer not to get transportation back to the start at the end.  Thanks.

Based on previous years, there will be a bus from the end to the start on Saturday before the ride starts on Sunday.  They can bring your gear & bikes.  The opportunities with the way you explained it is you would have to find somewhere safe to leave your stuff (a hotel) in start city, drive to end point on Friday to catch the bus back early Saturday, then get the local shuttle to your hotel for Saturday night to get your stuff.

I live in the Mts of NC and have done what you are talking about several years. It depends on where the start is and where you are coming from. The options with two of you are endless but make a lonely drive. You could drop all the gear and one person at the start on Friday night and then drive on to the end. Then parke the card and pay for one person to take the bus back to the start on Saturday. That way you would not need to mess with transportingthe bikes by truck and you would save the cost of one of the bus rides. I have always just prefered to ride the bus on Saturday before when I was not tired from a week of riding. Others will haev oter opinions.

I live near the coast, so I'm hoping there will also be a shuttle the other direction (coast to mountains) on registration day, and somewhere to park in the "coast" city.  Anyone know if this service has provided done in years past?

Yes, in years past there has been a bus option where you leave your car at the finish point and ride the bus to the start point on registration day.
