I need a ride from New Bern area to Sparta on Saturday.  If anyone is going that way and would like company and for me to pay the gas, let me know.  I'm assuming its too late to get a seat on the bus.  Also is it too late to register?  Thanks in advance,  Mac

I hope not... I did not see anything on the web site indicating an early reservation... below is the text on the web site under "Transportation"


 







Transportation Options








Optional transportation is available on October 2 from Oriental to Sparta and from Raleigh to Sparta leaving at 9AM. Optional transportation is also available on October 10 from Oriental to Sparta at 9AM and on October 9 from Oriental to Raleigh leaving at 3PM. An optional bus is also available at the end of day 3 back to the ride start at 4PM. Baggage and bike transportation is included in the transportation service. Bikes will be shipped on a separate truck. The stems will be loosened and the pedals removed from the bikes prior to loading. There will be mechanics to help with this process. CNC is not responsible for any damage to your bike during the shipping process. For extra protection, you may pre-pack your bike, but we can not keep your bike box for the week. More details on the bus options and directions to the bus departure area will be in your Rider’s Manual. Please register early to avoid missing the September 7, 2004 deadline for the transportation option. Free local shuttles will be available each day to take riders from the campsite into town for dining, shopping and to visit local attractions.

I found out, it is NOT too late to register for the ride, but is it too late for the transportation option?  It says Sept 7, is the deadline.  This is my only hold up for the ride.  I live in New Bern, N.C. If anyone within a 100 mi.  is going and have room, let me know and I'll pay the gas.  Mac
