Fifth grade teachers hope to have our students on the route part of the time to welcome riders passing through Stoneville which is just west of Eden. Stop and say hello. I would like to meet Billy and Sandy Knight from Kingsport,Tennessee.
I had to see who was welcoming the group to my former hometown. It will be good to see Stoneville and Eden and some of our old bike routes and buddies again. It's good to know you're keeping tabs on area cyclists and this event. Thanks. We're looking forward to it.

My name is Vaughn Greene. I live in Chapel Hill. My 13 year old son and I are riding in Cycle North Carolina this year. Would you be interested in receiving a card signed by the members of Ms. Nielsen's Fourth Grade class at Ephesus Road Elementary School, delivered by a special bike messenger, me? I was going to spend 10 minutes tomorrow, Friday, getting the kids in Ms. Nielsen's class (my 9 year old is in the class) to sign a card and show them a geological link, the Newark Supergroup, between Stoneville and our side of Chapel Hill. This geological feature is not shared by the area geographically between these two towns. Then I would bring it with me, stop and give it to a class of Fifth Graders and get them to give me a card or small poster to send to the Fourth Graders in Ms. Nielsen's class on Monday, October 11. Obviously this would not be going Priority Mail, but I thought the kids might like it. I have cleared this with Ms. Nielsen. Let me know what you think.
The card sounds fine and I can get one on this end signed by my students. The only problem is that we are only able to be on the street from about 10:30 to 12:20 as we have to get back to school for lunch. We will be located just beyond the traffic light in the middle of town ( heading east ) and in front of Rex and Julia'a Antique Shop. If you know about what time you expect to be there, and I cannot be there, I can arrange for someone to be there to exchange cards. I would like to do it personally, if possible. Thanks for the reply and looking forward to hearing from you again. Bill:
Thanks for the reply. Looking forward to seeing all those riders on Monday. Should be quite interesting. May get to see and meet you. Have a good and safe ride. Bill
I will probably be able to be sitting around watching about that time. May be sitting on a bench just past the traffic light in front of a furniture store. My red truck will probably be parked just a few yards east of that spot near the second traffic light.
Ms Nielsen's class made and signed a card today. I'll look for you after the traffic light and I'll look for the red truck. I'll be the rotund character huffing and puffing and looking like the medical helicopter should take me to the big hospital in Roanoke.
