Hello, everyone. I hope you are getting excited about the Fall ride! I know I am. It's my very first ride.
Here's something to ponder...
Would anyone be interested in skydiving in Louisburg the afternoon of October 3rd. I pondered the idea yesterday, and I wanted to see if anyone else would be interested.
Here is the website if you would like to ponder the idea as well.
I spoke to Kristen at Carolina Sky Sports this morning. She said that they typically aren't open on that day, but because of the bike ride, they are scheduled to be running trips that day. She said that the latest they can schedule a trip is 2pm, and you would need to plan on being there for 3-4 hours.
The discounted cost per person is $175 for us, and if you want a video of the experience it will be $274.
They can take 12-13 people up at a time, and you would need to give her a credit card to reserve a spot.
I know that my friend Benji and I are definately in and reserving our spot today!
It appears that the mileage for that morning will be somewhere in the 60's.
Lee - I would be interested in joinging you for a skydive. I am an experienced skydiver (~85 jumps) but gave it up several years ago and am no longer current with my certification, so a nice tandem to relive the old days would be a lot of fun. The DZ and equipment look excellent...anyplace that can maintain a fleet of aircraft like that is doing well, and would expect highly experienced and trained tandem masters to go with it.
How far is the DZ from our campsite? Would they be willing to provide pickup/drop off transportation? Please drop me an email at cielx@charter.net and we can resolve some of the details. Thanks for the idea!
I discussed this with some of the other folks in our CNC group when the word got out we would be in Louisburg. I think there are four or five of us are thinking about going. If we can't find suitable transportation there I could probably get someone to drive up from Raleigh to take us over to the jump site. -Jamie
