My apologies to the coffee drinkers out there who have been trained to pay in advance of the tour, this will not be the case at CNC with our service. And please, allow me to clarify, this coffee service is NOT part of Bubba's Pampered services, although anyone with Bubba is welcome to enjoy our coffee..for a fee, of course. And thanks Bubba for the plug as I was traveling that week.
We will have a very limited sign up, on Saturday, for paying for coffee for the week. This plan includes a travel mug that you get to keep and bring to the coffee stand every morning, which has proven in the past to work much better than wristbands. However, due to these travel mugs being made of 100% biodegradable corn (a very GREEN thing to have), the price of the coffee for the week is going to look very expensive, so take a seat, it's going to be $30 for the week and limited to the first 30 to sign in on Saturday. Sign up is CASH only for the week and I wish I could tell you exactly what to look for on Saturday, but I haven't been to the location and I'm not sure which vehicle I'll be driving, so please, give me a few weeks to work out details and I will post back to the message board. I have been on the road since June 8th and getting to internet is not always that easy, but if you need to read something, please go to my website at http://www.cdpdigitaldownload.com
Now then, if the weekly service seems too pricey and/or you are not interested in the travel mug, you may bring your cash to the coffee stand every morning you want coffee and we only charge a dollar a cup for 8 ounces of the best Fair Trade, dark roast, STRONG coffee you'll ever have in a high school parking lot. For two dollars, you can drink as many refills as you want that morning, and our hours tend to be 5:30am-7:30am. Exact change is greatly appreciated. And yes, we do offer a selection of hot tea and should the weather be on the chilly side, hot chocolate, and again, just a dollar a cup.
If a coffee panic continues before the tour starts, please email your concerns to me at cowfun@cdpdigitaldownload.com and I will respond as soon as I can and help you through these difficult times of caffiene uncertainty. I know, I'm a coffee drinker myself, and I'm here to help.
Well well....that's pretty risky to only take 30 coffee drinkers out of the 1,000 plus riders that attend this ride every year. I know most of the riders that attend this ride care a lot about the earth and recycling, but I think you could make more money if you just went to Wal-Mart and bought a couple cases of travel mugs..then you could charge less and gain more coffee drinkers.
Honestly, if Harold was around this would never have been an issue and we all could feel better knowing that we don't have to miss out on coffee service for the week because we weren't the lucky 30. We'll see how great this service really is!!
So, coffee is $4.2857 per day if you buy it by the week, but only a dollar a cup if you buy it by the day with your own cup? Obviously, most of us will not sign up, but will try and drink up each day.
Now, with 1,000 people on this ride, and only 30 of them being assured of coffee service each morning, you figure you will run out of coffee each morning by, what, say 6:15 a.m.?
Boy! Tough crowd, and what's funny, I know most of you. Hey, I used to work for Harold, and believe me, there was more grief over NOT selling it by the cup.
So let's try this again...I am not denying anyone coffee, period. What I am doing is offering a week price of $30 that includes a mug, and yes, it comes out to over $4 a day, but it includes a very nice mug, and it's limited because I don't want to force anyone to buy a mug they don't want, nor rip off anyone because the math is truly in your favor if you only want 8 ounces of coffee each morning. You have the option not to buy the mug/week program, and simply come up every morning and spend what you like. And not that anyone asked, but yes, you can use your own mug and we would charge accordingly (need to look at mug size, etc).
Folks, I have many, many years in the industry and had no issues with this mug program, so I ask that you trust me because at a dollar a cup, I'm giving it away, and at $30 a week, you not only enjoy great coffee, but help the environment.
Becky
ps I use a propane system and brew at the serving site, so running out of fresh brewed coffee is never an issue
This does sound like a tough crowd. Being a caffine free rider I'll stay out of the way of those needing their morning fix. That hot chocolate sounds good on a chilly morning though or after a cold wet day of riding, not that we will have any of those.
Hi all, I must stick up for my friend Becky here. Her first posting seemed to state all of the facts about the various options she offers. I have seen her all around the country offering her services and can assure everone you need not worry. Seems the "30" thing was misunderstood. There will be plenty of coffee to go around. I am not a coffee drinker but do enjoy the various teas she has to offer, especially on chilly mornings. See you there. Bubba
I tried to reply once to this post. But it didn't take. Either this one will, or there will be two.
I dont' really enjoy coffee that much. But I will do my best to be in the front of the line Saturday with my $30 bucks in hand. Just for the mug, and the experience. PLUS I like aggrevating you every morning. LOL I am glad that you have chosen to try and provide coffee for that irritable CNC coffee drinking crowd. I've listened to 'em e very morning - on every CNC except the first one.
Let me know if I can do anything to help you with the coffee. That is anything except dealing with them mean early morning coffee seekers one on one. LOL
