Does anyone know if there are other options for breakfast?  The ones offered sound appitizing, but much more food than what I normally eat before a ride.  This will be my first time riding CNC so any comments will be appreciated.

It is usually very convenient to stop at at store early in your ride and get a muffin or pack of nabs (that's lance crackers if you are not from around here).
And another thought would be to wait for the first rest stop if your body is conditioned for that.

Based on eight consecutive CNCs I have concerns about someone being told "you can pick it up at someplace along the way".  There have been many mornings on which I saw NO opportunity to get food along the route. No stores. No stores open. etc.  IF you can get by on light breakfast, you might consider getting it the night before, or carrying poptarts with you. There have usually been bananas in camp if that will serve you--but for me even five didn't work in place of breakfast.

I sure hope there are alternatives for some of these.  Many (most) of these breakfasts are not suitable for someone who is a diet controlled diabetic.  If they aren't high in simple carbohydrates, then the replacement is fat.

I realize breakfast is the toughest meal, but, YUCK!

I think I'll just pack along something with complex carbs to eat for breakfasts.

look carefully at where the camp sites are
last year there were 3 - 4 nights where we on east side on side of town
or many miles out of town  so that there  were no opportunties to buy  in AM without adding a number of miles  doubling back into town

consider  contacting  the new coffee service  perhaps  she will provide hot water for a small fee and you can pack instant oatmeal
