I would like to go again ths oct but would also like a riding partner to share the trip. I am a flatlander so I am slow up the hills but average around 14-15mph on flatts. Like to stop and enjoy scenery, male or female welcome.
I am sure you will find a riding partner during the Oct. ride. I am a 10 to 12 mph rider myself. My idea of a good ride is not the getting there but what there is to see along the way. I just spent 6 days riding and camping on the C&O Canal in Maryland. Most people do this trail in 3 to 4 days. But I was in no hurry and took 6 days exploring and taken pictures along the way. The CNC ride will offer lots of scenery and interesting places to see also.
I right there with you! I've just moved to Atlanta from Houston and I can certainly relate to your comment r.e. being a flatlander! My average speed on the flats is 13-15mph...SLOOOWWWW on the uphills and FASSST on the downhills...(the extra weight comes in handy on the downhills). I'm also a terrific wind break and I'm more than happy to do my share on the front when we hit the coastal headwinds. Count me in....
Look me up when you get in. I am trying to get in on Friday night. I should be easy to find. Blue Cannondale, NC Flag hanging off the back rack. And when ever the hills get really bad or I'm coming into or out of a rest stop I break out the train whistle. This will be my 6th year doing CNC. "BAD NEWS" Due to family vacations,Moving daughter from collage to her new job and my C&O bike trip I will only be able to ride the first two and half days. I will be leaving the route once we get pass Lake Norman. SEE YA!
