We are launching a new web site and some glitches are forcing us to start over on this message board. Sorry for losing the posts, but this board can still be a good tool for new riders. Thanks for being patient as we work the kinks out of the new web site.
Thanks to all of you who came to Edenton over the weekend! We had gorgeous weather (we were due for some good weather) and great riders. There were many beginners/new riders riders which I am always happy to see on our events.
For the inaugural event, I think things ran very smooth. We did have a problem with some of the supplies on the century, so for those of you who were out there, thanks for understanding. We do our best to make sure everything is covered, but we are not perfect. There was more than one thing that went wrong which ultimately ended up with no PB & J being available on the century. If it makes you feel any better, we had the supplies and the plan was for you to have it, it was just one of those things that sometimes happens. On the positive side - just think of all those calories you burned!
We are already working to make next year's spring ride better and will have some route announcements in the near future. In the meantime, be sure to sign up for the fall ride as it is likely to fill quickly.
Thanks again for a great weekend! Please be safe on the roads, and we will see you around.
Thank you for the work you put into the 1st NC Spring Tune-up ride. To make a nice weekend even better for next year, I do have two suggestions. 1) There should be 2 rest stops on the 40 mile route. 2) For folks not familiar with the Edenton area, why not offer a different 40 mile route on Saturday than on Friday? Or, you could offer the 60 mile route on Sat & the 40 miler on Sun. Just some thoughts. The folks in Edenton were wonderful, the older homes & waterfront beautiful, and the Friday night meal was great. Thanks for a fun weekend!!
My son Aaron and I felt the full impact of the lack of pb&j on the back side of the Century and I have to tell you that we'll be there next year, for sure.
The rides were SO FINE ! If you are going to make it even better next year, well, all I can say is don't worry about it too much. We will be back.
Riding over that low-railed bridge that they had detoured off of the NC "Ports of Call" route was exciting both ways ! BRING IT ON !!!
