The type of rides

Hi,
I am an experienced rider, but tend to sag on rides over 20 miles that have huge hills, like the ones around Hillsborough (anyone remember the MS 150 Hillsborough training rides? The hills were tough. )

I would love to go 20-30 miles but not if there are huge hills. Anyone know anything about the elevation gains?

Hummmmmmmmmmmm

Thanks for the help, an aging Baby Boomer, one of those who is turning 60 this year. Laviece

If you are talking about the spring ride in Asheboro then you can expect rolling hills.  There are some climbs in that region but nothing like what one would be accustom to in the mountains.  The Birkhead Mountain area of southwestern Randolph County can be a little hilly but you should be able to manage if experienced.

There is nothing wrong with walking to the top of a hill or a mountain if it takes all day it takes all day.

Are you going to ride the Spring ride in Asheboro?  I am considering it but only if I can pair up with someone who is not a pacesetter.  I rode year before last 465 mile fall ride, but it was really really hard for me.  I had a friend ride with me who was my speed and we finished but it was grilling!  Still, I am glad I went.  It is 3.5 hour drive to Asheboro for me; I am in Waynesville (Haywood County), which is 30 miles west of Asheville.

Look for an old man on a recumbent No speed is too slow, as long as I don't fall off the bike.
