The CNC brochure shows a leg on Oct. 9 which crosses the Pamlico from north to south, at Belhaven.  This sounds like the route will come very close to my paternal family homestead in Aurora, NC.  

Can you detail the route that day from the southside ferry offload at the Pamlico to its end that day at Oriental?

I cycled in this area last summer very pleasantly, including coming upon a mother bear and two cubs crossing the road.  Very rural.
