These are the overnight communities hosting the tour this year:

Banner Elk – Wilkesboro – Clemmons – Burlington – Holly Springs – Smithfield – Kinston – Emerald Isle

Below are a few of the highlights along the tour:

Lees McRae, Blue Ridge Mountains, Rafaldini Vineyards, Yadkin Valley, Tangle Wood Park, The Big Chair, Lake Macintosh, , Alamance Battleground, Jordan Lake, Carolina Brewing Company, Campbell University, Ava Gardner MuseumBentonville Battleground, Cliffs of the Neuse State Park, Richard Caswell Memorial, Neuseway Nature Center, Holiday Trav-L-Park.  You will also be able to see several of North Carolina’s charming small communities, scenic rivers and lakes and much, much more. More details about the route will be posted on our web site soon. Remember, the CNC routes are subject to change and we are always looking for the best and safest routes for you.

Plan on arriving early in Banner Elk, as there are lots to see and do.  Downtown Banner Elk is full of unique shops, restaurants, nightlife and special events and they are thrilled to have CNC as their guest. Visit the actual site where 7-time Tour winner, Lance Armstrong once trained and decided he was going to make a career comeback. Head up to Beech Mountain and train like Lance!  Take a moment to watch downhill slalom demonstrations by the 3-Time Division II Mountain Bike National Champions of Lees McRae.

***Once again, we will be offering several optional day rides on Saturday and will be led by local cyclists to ensure that you explore the best of Banner Elk and Avery County.  This is also a great warm-up for the week.  Several of the towns have an evening festival planned, with live music, vendors, and possibly beverage gardens.

We will continually update our website with host hotels, meal plan options, and other pertinent information.  Please continue to check our website for the latest updates: www.cyclenorthcarolina.org
