I will bump this up and add this question. Are there recumbent riders out there signed up? This would be my first time at an event such as this and want to be sure there are people like myself. I imagine there are all types of riders...some who turn each day into a time trial, those who enjoy a very leisurly pace and all in between. I lean toward the slow pace and wonder if there are others who are the same. Probably average 10 MPH or so. Maybe a little more in the lowlands. I live in the mountains in S.W. VA. Ride the Blue Ridge Parkway quite a bit. Am trying to decide between this tour and a solo to on the parkway. Any info would help.
There were plenty of recumbents last year- some fast, some slow, just like everyone else. I would imagine you will see/meet plenty of others out there. Hey, you don't want to ride alone anyway- Isn't that what we do most of the rest of the year.
Hi, Yes, there are 'bent riders on this ride. We've ridden every year and love the ride. There are several Trikes, long, and short wheel bases, dual-26" wheels, as well as Tandum Recumbents on this ride. Speedsters, medium paced and sightseers as well. You'll be in good company.
