But you need to get to REI by 8AM.  You'll find waiting for you the first of MANY lines you will wait in during CNC week.  This one will be to get your bike loaded on the bike truck.  They'll remove your pedals and turn your handlebars, then load it carefully on the truck.  You can save time and ensure you don't lose your pedals if you remove them yourself before you head to REI and put them in your luggage. 

Some folks with new and/or pretty bikes choose to wrap the frames with pipe insulation before they head to REI.  By bike is well-used enough that no one would notice an additional scratch.  They are quite careful, though.
