Any riders from the NYC area?

Hi,

I am looking to see if anybody is coming from the New York City area.  It would be great to touch base, or even try to commute together.

My brother, Steve is from Baldwin, NY.  He's flying to Wilmington to meet me and drive across the state.  We'd love to meet you on the ride! Look for the Cape Fear Cyclists group, and you'll find him.

Hi Maria,
Eileen's brother Steve checking in. From the sign in list, I see folks joining us from Oyster Bay, Bergenfield, Newark, Brooklyn, and East Setauket. It will be good to meet you and the others from the New York area. One office of my company, Guy Carpenter & Co. is located in Hoboken. Headquarters is 23rd and Madison in NYC

CNC will be my first cross state ride. Did some biking yesterday to the hills of Upper Brookville and Oyster Bay area yesterday but they don't match the hills of Banner Elk and Boone. Should be a really nice ride to the coast. I'm letting Bubba's Pampered Peddlars take care of my camping so I can enjoy the ride and some of that wine tasting I just wrote about.

Looking forward to meeting the rider from Germany, too. Everyone on the ride should have an interesting story to tell. I see plenty of riders from Cary, NC. I attended a wedding there last week. Nice people who easily handled the shut down of all the restaurants in town during the weekend. The shut down forced the bride and groom to move their reception to a friend's house in Apex on 18 hours notice. Plan B worked out fine. Looking forward to getting back to North Carolina for the ride.

Hello Eileen and Steve!

It is great to hear from you both.  Steve, I would imagine it is difficult to get hills out on the island.  The question is how steep will the hills be in Banner Elk and Boone?  Do you ever get out to 9W (it starts around the GW bridge)?  I find that the hills there are challenging.

So what is Bubba's Pampered Peddlars?

That wedding story is amazing!

I will look for you both.  It would be great to find you.

Maria

My sister Eileen, who did this ride last year, learned that Bubba sets up our tents and takes them down in the morning, for a fee of course. His tents may be sold out but check it out at www.bubbaspamperedpeddlars.com. I think I spelled it right. See you somewhere around the start.
