I registered with a request for bus transportation from Oriental back to Sparta, but later planned for family to meet me at Oriental, so no bus ride is needed.  Inquiring about a refund of the pre-paid $60 bus fare, I was told that it is not refundable or transferable.  I can't see why not, this many weeks in advance.  Does anybody know a way around this?  Be forewarned, anyway.

I suspect your best bet is to post a notice on the bulletin board on the ride to catch/help someone who didn't think they needed the bus but now do. There are usually some in this perdicament.


I haven't sent mine yet but am too much of a worry wort to send without and hope to catch you later for the ticket. It is a long bike ride back with two duffle bags. (-:

Whoops, they MAY enforce the "not-transferable" but I have seen postings at the end of other rides implying this could be done.  I'm sure, to do it right, it would take both individuals going to the HQ tent together to make sure there were no misunderstandings since you don't actually receive a ticket--just a name on the bus company list.
