Arrived back in Lansing the other night to freezing temps & blowing snow. What a contrast. Blast of reality after cranking down the roads & walking the beach at Emerald Isle. I will add my heartfelt thanks to CNC staff & volunteers for a wonderful tour. Could hardly have been better. Many wonderful memories --the cameraderie on the roads & at the rest stops, the awesome downhill into Wilkesboro, the welcome at Thomasville, the deluge on the 6th day when we "took over" La Grange Pizza & Subs & Maria suggested we remove everything we decently could & dry them in the coin laundry next door, the sun breaking through on the approach to Bogue Sound, etc. Bring on CNC 2007...
Roger, I'm glad I met you as you may well be one of the nicest people on earth. Email me at: bikingguy@nc.rr.com. I think I have a picture or two with you in it. Take care!
the nice thing about being a "C" rider (hey i give a full 79% on each ride) is chatting up folks like roger, and a whole long list of other cyclists. "passing on the left" is over rated.
the CNC experience encourages me to think of cycling as a way to learn a region, locale or community. check out a few upcoming rides in north carolina.
Hey Katchup, what the heck happened to Maria? She took all of our email addresses but I haven't heard from her. I've got lots of pix. Email me at the same address I gave Roger and I'll get the pictures out to you and Cindy.
i was unable to do the ride this year due to a broken femur in a cycling accident in june. major bummer! but, i wanted to add to the list of fall rides here in North Carolina.
i feel healed enough to do the 70 mile ride. we'll see. anyways, it's a beautiful ride.
