There are still a few days left, so in NC that means the forecast can change drastically (as it has over the past few days), but here's the latest:
The first couple of days we will likely have some rain - but probably not a steady downpour like CNC 2002. Daytime highs in the upper 60's and overnight lows in the mid- to upper 40's. Highs and lows will gradually increase as the week wears on. By Thursday expect a high in low- to mid 70's and lows in the low 50's.
It may be a little chilly to start, but that gets the juices flowing. I have ensured that it will not be too cold by buying a buncha cold weather gear.
I've given up on weather reports--except the hurricane ones--after last year. On Friday afternoon, the prediction for Saturday and Sunday was low 30s and clear on two different Internet weather services. Actual turned out to be high 40s with drizzle. (We did get some sun.) The extended forecase was for 20% chance of rain for most of the rest of the week. Well, we were under that 20% on five of the seven days. Predictions in the mountains--except when a hurricane is coming, seem to be of minimal value. Just come prepared for anything. (-:
