We have updated the hotel list on our website www.cyclenorthcarolina.org. Please mention that you are with Cycle North Carolina to receive the discounted rate.
Thanks again for all the work lining up these hotels. They were all very accommodating and seem excited to be hosting the group.
I did find one issue with the listing. Please note the phone number listed for the Holiday Inn Express in Whiteville is incorrect. The correct phone number is 910-641-0644.
Now that I have the hotels booked I suppose I need to get that registration form in. HA!
For those of you who may want a motel in Asheville the night before the ride begins, there are several alternatives literally right across the street from the Holiday Inn ($95) that is the official partner hotel.
Though you will NOT have shuttle service from these other motels, if you can drive your vehicle to Christ School, you do have other options.
Fairfield Inn 828.684.1144
Econo Lodge 828.684.1200
Hampton Inn 828.687.0806
Days Inn 828.684.2281
Comfort Inn 828.687.9199
The Fairfield, Hampton, and Comfort Inn's (and of course, the Holiday Inn) are nice places. The Econo Lodge, and Days Inn are less so. There is also a Budget Motel at this location also, but I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.
Keep in mind, October 1st is the beginning of "Tourist 'color tour' season" for the local hotel/motel industry. Rates are higher than normal. Regardless, tell them your coming for CNC. They may or may not, think you're from Mars!
In a related topic, I'm putting together a restaurant list complete with mileages from Christ School that you'll be able to pick up at sign-up. There are literally two dozen restaurants within a short ride from the school.
If you have specific questions about the start area, post your questions and I'll respond when I can.
Just got off the phone with Holiday Inn Express in Whiteville for Fri the 7th. Either I got someone who did not know what they were doing or they do NOT have CNC rooms blocked for $69.95
We stayed at the Best Western in 2001 during CNC, and it's across the street from the camp. Nothing to brag about, but reasonably safe and clean in my memory. I got the HI for this trip, tho, long before CNC announced its hotels, my rate is in teh early 60s plus a 9% tax. Is your issue w the HI lack of availability or the price? Try the Best Western.

Oh, BW had only 1 clerk in 01, and we were a long line qued up on a hot day. Patience is a virtue...
