Unfortunately I will not be able to join y'all for CNC 2005 as I have to be in Baltimore for a family event the day CNC starts in Asheville.         The good news is that I decided to cycle from Raleigh, NC to Baltimore instead!  Happy Cycling.

Can't tell you how much I enjoyed your notes from 2004. Brought back lots of nice reveries of the villages and terrain. This "inner" experiential aspect of cycling is so simple and yet so deeply fulfilling, and Yes, FUN!

You did a good job of recording each leg, it's challenges and quirks,

We'll miss your thoughts this year!

The turtle story deserves a full chapter. I heard it from others. Is it true someone gave the unlucky rider a shellacked Tortoise shell as a gift/momento of the unusual road hazard?
