The NC DOT is making available a new Share The Road license plate for NC vehicles, but 300 people need to sign up and order one in order for the state to begin manufacturing them. So far, as of September 12, they have only 215 orders. The cost is $30 per year, more if you want it personalized. Proceeds go to bicycle and pedestrian safety. On the other hand, it is a recognizable symbol and anything to help raise awareness is good. I am one of the 215 on the list and I'll be happy to have that plate on the family car.

I wish whomever they hired to design it had put a little more effort into it, rather than just slapping a Share the Road icon on the existing plate.
Yeah, I didn't mean to imply it's not good that they came up with one, it's just that it looks like they rushed one in with no real thought on the aesthetics. I like that they're using the instantly recognizable Share the Road sign, I just thought they could have come up with a better way of using it.
