Some of us could stand to miss a lunch or two. Come to think of it, why not skip lunch the whole week. Better yet, why not get on the cycle and ride non-stop until the end of the ride for that day and then have a salad and beer for supper.
Be a boy scout (or girl scout). The last couple of years, the bus has stopped for food BUT.......where it stops is sometimes an issue. With Greyhound a couple years ago the driver stopped at a little filling station out in the middle of no where that had a huge barrell filled with iced sodas, and the kind of candy snacks usually available at such places. (It looked like a set-up to me--and took forever in line to get a bag of expensive potato chips.) Other years, and more likely, there was a fast food option, and/or at least a large grocery store with deli.
The point is that it is wise to have something as backup just in case the available choices don't suit you. (-:
