Hello everyone!

I'm riding alone and looking forward to meeting everyone. This is my first CNC trip -- and I've only been riding 2 years. I live in NC and decided to ride in my great state -- to check out a week long trip. My goal is to ride the Green Mountains, CO or Utah on another vacation. I'd love to hear about your experiences and the places you have been that you would recommend!

I look forward to a cup of coffee, lunch, dinner, a paceline or simply chatting as we make our way to the beach!

Look for me on a carbon fiber GURU.

Have a great time and all the best to you.

Karen and DJ,

Ya'll have made a good decision, and are gonna have a blast.

Ride well within yourself the first day or two, you do not recover fully overnight. My 1st CNC, I rode like a banshee the 1st day and had nuttin' to offer the course the next day. Save a little, ya gotta ride for a whole week. Asprin is my best friend...

NC is a great place to ride, and the folks who do CNC know what they are doing and are friendly. Chill w bikers, chat, get ready to laugh. There are a lotta riders who've ridden for years, get em talking and keep your ears open...It's fun to hang around camp, and just chill. Use waiting in line to make new friends.

Be sure your gear is in good shape, take chain lube w ya (or see the REI dudes, they are awe-sum). Use the CNC list of what to pack, and I know you've seen the advice to pack stuff in waterproof bags. I love a bag on wheels, too. Rolling beats carrying.

See ya out there, I'm the guy spinnin' and grinnin'...I get to eat like I'm 17, ride like I'm 12, and I've got an ID for adult beverages. How does it get any better than that??? The only concern I have all week is what I get to eat next. Yeee Haaaa!

Let's boogie, chil'run...

Jack

This will be my sixth CNC.  It is too much fun.  Several of us went out to CO two years ago for the bicycle tour of Colorado--beautiful.  Have a great ride.  Eat a little more than you think you should everyday and it will help your energy level several days into the ride.  Come look up the Carolina Psychlists over by the Cycling Logistics trailer  they have lots of road stories to share.  Be careful of the Dog Pound crowd especially Mad Dog ; ) he's wild and crazy but he mixes a good margarita!

happy trails

I'm really excited and know that my bike and gear are in good condition. I just hope I'm there too! Looking forward to seeing everyone and getting started!
