I thoroughly enjoyed reading the emails back and forth from Blue Bikers and the elementary school classes they communicated with along the way. How does one become a Blue Biker? It looks like they only take 8 cyclists per year. Has anyone done something similar, but outside of the Blue Biker program, with an elementary school in your area? It seems like such a great way to get kids interested in NC, exercise, and cycling.
Anyone can be a Blue Biker, all ya gotta do is ask.
Email CNC and ask them to put you on next year's list.
It's fun to play with the kids, and see this ride thru their eyes, and to help them see it thru your eyes.
I'm talking to my class tomorrow, showing them the pics I took. They love it.
OBTW, guess what: CNC registration is free to those who are Blue Bikers. So, not only do you get to play with the kids, the bike ride is free! Kewl! I think BCBSNC picks up the registration tab. They are nice folks.
