I think my post was either deleted, censored, or failed to post concerning a Sunday through Wednesday ride option. Since it does not appear that this will be an official option for the ride, I am looking for people who might be interested in doing this. My reasons for doing this part of the ride are not important, i am looking to end on Wednesday afternoon and getting a ride to Cary. Anyone else interested in this option please post and we can make plans.
Hey Billster - If you don't get any better offers, we can maybe get you to Cary (REI, I assume?) from Holly Springs on Wednesday, although you may have to hold your bike on your lap. I look forward to sleeping in my own bed that night (yay!), after being picked up by my husband, and so I will have four-wheeled transportation from HS to my house. Cary and REI are on the way. Alternatively, HS is only 10-12 miles from Cary, so you may want to ask around and see if there's a good bike route from there to REI, in which case you won't have to wait for me because I'll probably be the last biker in.
Val, thank you for the interest in helping with this situation. Here is what I am facing. I have been contacted by a friend who also wants to do the Sun-wed ride, he has done 2 CNCs full ride, he too wants to ride the first part for the challenge, and like me could give a hoot about the end party or the extra miles to get there. He has family obligations that he does not want to spend a full week away from. So our current plan really does not exist, we plan to drive to Cary, catch the bus to the start and between now and ride date figure out logistics on how to get back to Cary from the ride. Am thinking of contacting a sponsor of the ride that is going to Cary for help or may just be forced to rent a car to drive to Cary. 1 person for you I suspect was okay but i don't want to leave my buddy behind. If you can still help out contact me @wjs22@hotmail.com
the plans have changed again, my friend now wants to ride full week. I may take you up on your offer. I'll just keep an eye on the situation and will plan accordingly. Thanks, Bill
