The first CNC was a true cross-state marathon - Murphy to Manteo over two full weeks. Subsequent years have gone from "this side" of the Mountains to the Coast in one week. We've seen at least 3 years with pouring rain (including last year and 2003). We've seen morning where there was frost on the pumpkin (and the tent). We've also enjoyed bright sunny days, slogging up long climbs and screaming down long mountain descents, shuttling around many great towns, and making terrific cycling friends.
Is this your first CNC or are you coming back for more?
must sit this one out. "Knee surgery". Should be ready for the spring retreat. may drop by @ Tangle wood to say hello to the mountain dots. I ridden on all the rides since 2000.
I'm a newbie for CNC. I may be the only one on a mountain bike! At least I'll have touring tires on. One of my dreams has been to explore the U.S. by bike and I saw this opportunity. I'm fit for mountain biking, don't have enough $$ at this time for a road bike but I'm hoping the road isn't too different...So if you see a 5'0", brunette on a trashed blue mountain bike, please say HI as your flying by me!
This will be my 4th, having ridden '99, '01, and '03. I enjoyed the first ride, a 2 week event, despite the rain. Let's hope for sunshine and 70 degree days.
