We're looking forward to pouring our wine for you and your getting to know us, both Sun. night at the Merlfest site and early Mon. morning (we're your rest stop!)
We have hay wagons (blankets over the hay...not to worry about snagging your neoprene!) to bring you from the road, thru the vineyard, up to the tasting area on Monday.
Just wanted to remind everyone that we had special stickers made for your wine bottle purchases: Cycle NC Moutains to the Sea 2006 with the cycle NC logo. They are very cool. Also, we've put together an easy to fill out shipping form so we can send you on your way...leaving the wine behind with us to arrive at your home a week later.
See you soon!
I wonder, does anyone know how early the first cyclists may arrive on Monday morning?
Seriously, Susan, you are about 20 miles out from the camping area at Wilkes Community College. Some of the fittest riders will be able to ride that distance over rolling terrain in about an hour. If the first riders start at 7:30 as they are advised to, you could see the first riders around 8:30. Some riders do start before the course officially opens, so it is possible someone could show up earlier. I expect you will continue to see riders through mid-morning.
We don't wear neoprene, that is divers or fly fishermen...we wear lycra baby because we think we look good for being soo middle-aged. Hence a lot of single dorky balding men with adolescent nicknames like "dog" and "Dog Breath" and "Doggie Doo", etc.
But we will drink us some wine, so get it ready girl!!!
